Dance music producer Danny lees shares anthem ‘You Tell Me Lies’
23 year old Manchester based DJ/producer Danny Lees has officially released his infectious dance anthem ‘You Tell Me Lies’ via Sony RCA UK.
Featuring a sample of Marvin Gaye’s 1966 release ‘Ain’t That Peculiar’, Danny layers classic house organs with a slick garage bassline and draws influence from early 90s classic house.
Speaking about the track, Danny says: ‘This was one of the first house tracks I made and at the time this kind of music was a new discovery for me , never in a million years did I think it would have become as popular as it has!’
The rising producer originally uploaded ‘You Tell Me Lies’ to Soundcloud a couple of years ago whilst studying at music college in Salford. More recently, the track has become a huge viral sensation, amassing over 2 million streams globally and soundtracking numerous TikTok trends generating over 7k videos in the process.
Freshly signed to Sony RCA UK, Danny has been making waves in the industry. Gravitating towards artists such as Steely Dan, The Smiths and The Police in his younger years, when he makes music now, Danny draws influence from artists such as Disclosure, Shift K3y and MK.
The huge viral smash ‘You Tell Me Lies’ is out now and looks set to become one of the biggest dance tracks of 2021.
