Grammy nominated producer trio Meduza reveal a new club focussed production “Headrush” featuring newcomers Elroii on Insomniac Records. Noted as their first release of 2021.
“Headrush” sets out to illustrate the recognizable narrative of being in a dark and underground nightclub, resulting in getting lost in the moments, wandering off and losing your friends. The driving beat and menacing horns rally, coupled with the relatable monologue of Elroii, detailing the inner voice of the listener, tinged with electrifying synth stabs. The pounding percussion is as immersive as it is demonic only interrupted by the euphoric breakdown before further driving the dark and haunting beat. Flexing their elite producer skills on “Headrush,” Meduza supply a small taste of what’s to come from their Summer shows (full list here).
Meduza have spent the last two years dominating the electronic music space. Noted as the “Most Listened to” Italian artist on Apple Music and Spotify in history, Meduza are the fastest growing Italian artists on YouTube, with over 1million subscribers. Their debut release, “Piece Of Your Heart” featuring Goodboys earned them a Grammy nomination back in 2019. Now with over 2 billion cumulative streams globally, “Piece Of Your Heart” is certified multi diamond, platinum, and gold in 27 countries. Their follow up, “Lose Control” with Goodboys and Becky Hill, also made an unprecedented impact, reaching over 1.5 billion cumulative streams and earning #1 in the UK Top40 in its first week. As 2020 brought on a hiatus for live shows, Meduza locked themselves in the studio to reveal their next international hit “Paradise” featuring Dermot Kennedy, which debuted last October. Within weeks, “Paradise” became their biggest release to date, breaking global streaming records and scoring a live performance on daytime TV with the Ellen Degeneres show.
Newcomers Elroii debut with this massive collaboration, looking to establish their strong productions and mesmerising vocals as essential listening for dance music purveyors all over the globe.
