Tomorrowland Deepens China Presence With Two-Day Shanghai Festival

Tomorrowland is set to return to Shanghai this October as The Magic of Tomorrowland evolves into a two-day experience for its 2026 edition. The event will once again take place at the Hero Dome, marking the festival’s third consecutive year in China and its most ambitious staging in the region to date. Previously presented as a single-day event, the Shanghai instalment will now run across October 17–18.

Organisers have confirmed that both local and international artists will be announced closer to the event, with full programming expected in the coming months. Ticket information is set to follow in August, with pre-registration already available via the INS Land app and WeChat Mini Program. The expansion reflects the growing appetite for large-scale electronic music events across Asia, where demand for immersive festival experiences continues to rise.

Speaking on the announcement, Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen said the response from fans across China and the wider region has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the continued enthusiasm surrounding the festival’s return and its evolving format. “The enthusiasm from fans in China and across Asia has been incredible, and we look forward to welcoming even more people into the world of Tomorrowland this year,” she said.

For the 2026 edition, The Magic of Tomorrowland will once again bring the world of Planaxis to Shanghai, continuing the festival’s signature storytelling approach that ties each chapter to its broader fantasy universe. The shift to a two-day format underscores both the scale of its return and the sustained growth of Tomorrowland’s audience in the region, where interest in large-scale electronic music experiences continues to accelerate.
